About Pengor
Pengor UK Limited has been operating since April 2007 as an associate of Gazing Performance Systems, who are human performance specialists. Working in business, sport and education, we help individuals and teams to maximise their potential and achieve sustainable improvement in their results.
We do this by devising and implementing human performance systems that give people the direction, the insight and the practical tools they need to deliver their best when it really counts.
Crucially, the work we do with Gazing is based on the firm belief that, in an increasingly competitive world, the pressure to perform is present in every workplace, every day.
Pressure is present in every job, it varies by degree, depending on the job, but nobody could deny that there may be extreme pressure in any of the following situations, particularly when the individual concerned is expected to perform the task in question to a high standard, day after day:
- Making an important sales call
- Chairing a difficult meeting
- Taking up a new leadership role
- Dealing with an irate customer
- Handling an under-performing employee
And in every case, a successful outcome can depend to a huge degree on how well the individual or team concerned responds to that pressure - bearing in mind that pressure can help us raise our game, if we know how to manage it.
Our approach to optimising performance is all about doing the simple things exceptionally well. We help people learn how to think clearly and execute the skills they have, consistently, whatever situation they find themselves in.
But, in the incredibly complex environment that is the human
mind, such
"simplicity" is anything but simple to achieve.
Improved performance: a systematic approach
To overcome the negative effects of pressure on performance, people need three main things:
- A clear "big picture" understanding of the task in hand
- A well defined framework in which to operate
- Practical tools and knowledge
We focus equally on all three. We help people understand and acquire the mind-set that will get the job done, and we show them how to translate that into their everyday working lives - connecting clear thinking to effective execution.
We don't call what we do training - which, for us, implies something of finite duration and, in most cases, limited practical usefulness. Our human performance systems are not a one-off event, but the basis for an entirely new way of performing a task or function; a way that will enable people to achieve more consistent performance and better results.
Pengor is owned by Gordon Holmes who has had 33 years of corporate experience both in the UK and in South Africa. His background is that of sales, marketing and business management at an executive level. Prior to starting his own business, he was responsible for learning and development in the area of providing outsourced services.
In addition to developing his own customer base for Pengor UK Limited, he also lectures small business owners on developing inspiring ways to market their business..
